Experience Unrivalled Luxury at St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino

St. Eugene Resort & Casino, Cranbrook, BC

Nestled in the beautiful Purcell Mountains of British Columbia and within the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa Nation, this award-winning destination offers something for everyone, from the golfer to the gambler and everyone in between. With world-class amenities, a vibrant casino atmosphere and picturesque mountain vistas, St. Eugene is the perfect place to escape from a busy day-to-day life and relax in the comfort of luxurious surroundings. On this visit, I didn't bring my golf clubs, so I took advantage of some downtime and enjoyed the outdoor pool and warm sunshine for the afternoon.

St. Eugene Golf Resort’s Beautiful Rooms and Suites

The Resort is rich in history and offers a choice of beautiful guestrooms in the restored Mission Building, in the Lodge Building, or at the KOA RV Park on the property. The Mission Building, where I stayed, is a former residential school that was reclaimed under the leadership of the Ktunaxa Nation and transformed into a full-service resort and an inspiration for the community. There are several common areas within the Mission Building where guests can sit, visit, play board games, and relax.

From my suite in the Mission Building, I overlooked the gardens, pool, and golf course. Other views include the Purcell or Rocky Mountains, such as the beautiful Fisher Peak, which I've actually visited by helicopter. You can read about this in my other post, 7 Things to Do in Cranbrook. RV Park guests can also take advantage of the resort amenities.

World-Class Golf: Hit the Links in Style at St. Eugene Golf Resort

If you're a golfer, this 18-hole course is something to behold. You'll golf through the valley along the St. Mary’s River and enjoy the stunning mountain. Each of the 18 holes has a Ktunaxa name, so that you will learn a bit about the Ktunaxa culture and history as you golf. Lessons can be booked at the Pro Shop, and The 19th Hole serves breakfast, dinner, drinks and snacks and is open during the summer season only.

Casino of the Rockies:
Enjoy the Vibrant Atmosphere

I wandered through the Casino and saw a good selection of slot machines, card tables, roulette, and other games. I tried gambling with $25 and didn't win. Perhaps I'll try a bit more next time! The live entertainment was great to enjoy as I played, and I look forward to my next visit and will check out the various performers.

Dining at St Eugene Golf Resort: Enjoy Gourmet Cuisine

For those like me, who enjoy gourmet cuisine, I was so happy to hear that Numa Restaurant & Lounge is open again! The restaurant was closed on my last visit during the pandemic, so I'm excited to go back and dine there! I'm looking at the menu online as I write this and making notes of some dishes I'd like to try. The Chicken Wellington and Elk & Boar Bolognese Cappelletti are two dishes that stand out at first glance.

Within the Casino, you can enjoy casual food, including small plates and appetizers, and enjoy craft cocktails at Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiⱡ. Pronounced key-seeouk-keekit/th, Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiⱡ means good food in Ktunaxa.

Conclusion

I had a wonderful stay at St. Eugene Golf Resort & Spa, courtesy of the Resort, and will definitely be back to enjoy amenities I didn't have the chance to try last time!
